  As part of our initial response, lifeline help teams are distributing: food, blankets and heaters. as well as, performing search and rescue missions, and establishing safe spaces for those affected by the earthquakes.  

Two massive earthquakes have devastated Turkey and Syria. The latest figures revealed over 24,000 people have lost their lives in Turkey, and over, 80000 were injured. Also, 4000 people have lost their lives in Syria, and more than 7000 were injured. More than 5000 houses have been destroyed.

In theses cold rainy days a Libyan family of six children and their mother had to leave their house roofed with corrugated metal because of the water leaking inside. Their house needs a complete renovation.  

According to UNOCHA, currently 13% of Libya’s population is in need compared to a global 2.17% which highlights just how much need there is in Libya. The good news is though, that your Zakat can make a huge difference. At Lifeline help, we do our best to gather and distribute Zakat to those who desperately need

Hospitals in the south are under resourced and in need of basic equipment, such as anaesthetic drugs and resources. Additionally, there are staff shortages that need to be made up.
